Beauty with a Cause was started by Cathy Kangas to help animal welfare organizations around the world.  She has committed a percentage of the profits of the company to this effort.

Cathy is best known as the world’s leading activist for ending the Canadian seal hunt.  She received worldwide publicity in 2006 when she offered the Canadian government $16 million to shut down the hunt. Since that time, she has focused her efforts on offering Canadian sealers a financial incentive to turn in their licenses

Her commitment and generosity doesn’t end with the hunt, which is the largest slaughter of marine mammals in the world.

Since its inception in 1999, Beauty with a Cause helped support an elephant sanctuary in Tennessee; a home for former Air Force chimps in Florida; the protection of dogs and cats through Animals Asia, a new home for companion animals in Connecticut; help for working animals in Africa, as well as financial donations to countless other organizations around the world.

Cathy believes that the support of PRAI Beauty gives a voice to those who have none and defends the defenseless.

WAYNE PACELLE
- HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES

Cathy is a member of our National Council and provides the HSUS with advice and strategy for all issues facing animals around the world.  She has been particularly effective in getting worldwide attention for the Canadian seal hunt.  Beauty with a Cause exemplifies her dedication and commitment to animal welfare.

DR. CAROLE NOON - SAVE THE CHIMPS

The sanctuary for former Air Force chimps in Southeast Florida is the beneficiary of Cathy's largesse.  Through Beauty with a Cause, we have received invaluable operating support to help the Air Force chimps acclimate to new surroundings and live out their lives in peace and dignity.

GENERAL PETER DAVIES - WSPA

"At the World Society for the Protection for Animals (WSPA), we've seen that Cathy's commitment to animals is more than skin deep.  Through Beauty with a Cause, she is helping animals in a substantial and meaningful way.  Whether we've needed her help to save dolphins in Latin America, protect wildlife in Africa or to save bears in India, Cathy has been there.  She understands the complexity and challenges of international animal welfare, yet she possesses a powerful optimism that helps to create change.  In 2007,

Cathy is partnering with WSPA to improve the lives of thousands of homeless pets around the world as WSPA's first U.S. Ambassador for Companion Animals."

CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON - SEA SHEPHERD CONSERVATION SOCIETY

Sea Shepherd's mission is the protection of all marine wildlife.  Through Beauty with a Cause, we are able to fund our research vessels and observe first hand around the world how these animals are treated.  We are particularly concerned with the protection of whales and seals and Cathy understands that these beautiful creatures deserve a voice.
